SITUATION
At Atlassian, we recognized a need for stronger cross-functional collaboration between the Loyalty Advocate (LA) team and the Cloud Migration Management (CMM) team during the critical phase of server-to-cloud migrations. Both teams played vital roles, but their processes were often siloed, leading to potential inefficiencies and a less seamless customer experience.
TASK
My task was to bridge this gap, improve collaboration, and ultimately enhance the customer's cloud migration journey. Specifically, I needed to, understand each team's job functionalities. develop a collaborative process. gain stakeholder buy-in for this new process.
ACTION
"To achieve this, I:
Initiated 'brown bag' sessions for both teams to share their workflows and responsibilities.
Collaborated with a co-driver from the CMM team to create a streamlined process that emphasized joint engagement during the migration assessment stage.
Worked with both teams to get buy in from the managers and stakeholders. We created presentations that showed the value of the cross functional collaboration, and how it would improve the customer migration experience.
We also created a process that showed how the teams would work together, and how it would not just be an additional monitoring tool, but a key part of the migration process."
RESULT
The collaborative process resulted in:
Improved communication and alignment between the LA and CMM teams.
A more efficient and customer-centric migration assessment stage.
Increased stakeholder buy-in, as they recognized the value of the collaboration.
The overall customer experience during the cloud migration was greatly improved.
Both teams were able to provide a better service to the customer, and the customers were able to have a smoother cloud migration.
The project was a success."
